Austin Ember House with Hot Tub & Pit

Property was modern, clean, spacious and comfortable. Great value for money and close to Austin downtown.

Lack of communication from hosts before check in made this process very confusing. Did not receive a message with door code details so I had to sit on the driveway for 30 minutes trying to get hold of the host before I could access the property. Lack of basic amenities and kitchen hardly stocked with essentials. Aside from that, it's a lovely property and very comfortable!

Overall, we had a nice stay and the home does look just like the photos—very well designed and put together. The space itself was clean and visually appealing, and we appreciated the overall aesthetic. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and the home has great potential, but there are definitely a few areas that could be improved to make the experience more comfortable and seamless for future guests.

The location was a bit misleading. The home is on a busy street and not as close to downtown as it appeared on the original map when we booked, which was disappointing. The exterior of the property could use some attention as well. The trash outside was overflowing, there were mini liquor bottles left around, and quite a lot of weeds, which made the first impression less than ideal. Inside the home, while it was nicely styled, it felt minimally stocked. There were no extra blankets or pillows, only six towels provided(we are a family of 6, and no hangers available. The dryer was not working, and although detergent isn’t always expected, it would have been helpful given the limited linens. There were also no window shades and sheer linen curtains so bring an eye mask if you are planning on sleeping in. There were also a few maintenance concerns: the showers didn’t get hot, the sink water was only lukewarm, and the fridge made a very loud noise every few minutes when attempting to fill the ice maker (which wasn’t set up).
