It was incredibly humid, even though it was spring and around 15–19°C outside. The bedsheets and towels smelled so damp that it felt like they hadn’t even been changed. I couldn’t sleep with smelly bedding, so I actually had to go to IKEA and buy my own sheets and towels. The kitchen has no windows, so cooking smells just linger. Similarly, the bathroom lacks ventilation, meaning all the moisture escapes into the rest of the apartment. The place wasn’t clean either; there was long hair and dust everywhere, so I had to clean it myself upon arrival. My window overlooked the street, making it very noisy—the whole area is quite loud, in fact. On top of that, the walls are paper-thin; you can literally hear your neighbors talking on the phone or watching TV. Your comfort here completely depends on who is next door. For instance, I had a neighbor who was loudly throwing up multiple times a day and in the middle of the night, which constantly woke me up. While the location is close to the center and the train station, areas around stations can feel unsafe, and there are a lot of sketchy people hanging around. There is a police station right next to the building, which gave me a slight sense of security, but not much. Lastly, I can’t comment on whether the staff is friendly because they completely ignored my messages, even when I was trying to check out. I ended up just leaving the keys in the room.
