    If you travel by own car to Takayama, i definitely recommend this hotel. It's near Takayama, with no other foreign tourists beside us during our visit. The Nepalese manning frontdesk is also helpful. They have outdoor bath on the ground unlike most hotel in Takayama town, which has theirs on rooftop or above the ground. The onsen powder room provide amenities like hairband, hairdryer, lotions, moisturizer, packed comb, that is way more variety than all the other 5 onsen bathhouse i visited during our trip. The room is 10tatami and 6tatami room with private toilet and bathtub. It is so spacious beyond the normal japanese hotel size. The breakfast is variety too, even for muslims that has food restrictions has many choices of food to choose from. They serve miso soup, rice, grill salmon and grill mackarel, salmon and prawn sashimi, macaroons, yogurt, parfait bar among others as desert, which i think very generous for the hotel fee they are charging. It feels like you are staying in a ryokan with a fraction of a ryokan price. The only down side is, it is 3km away from Takayama station. If you travel in own transport, this placr is definitely a steal.

    We had a great stay for 2 nights. Our ryokan room doesn't come with an attach bathroom. You can shower in the public bath which is spacious. It also has an outdoor onsen with pretty view. Vending machines with ice cream, milk and drinks are available just outside the public bath. Love their body lotion. Hotel is generous with their beauty products in the room and bath areas. Location is quite far from town but if you drive, no issue as they provide free parking.

    Our stay was a mixed experience. The front desk staff who checked us in were very kind, helpful, and supportive, which made us feel welcome from the beginning. The food was also good and we enjoyed our meals. However, our experience the next morning was disappointing. There was one very tall male staff member at the front desk who was quite rude. We were traveling with young children, but instead of being understanding, he kept rushing us, which made the checkout experience stressful and unpleasant. The cleanliness could also be improved. We noticed quite a few insects in the onsen water, which was disappointing considering we were looking forward to relaxing there. Overall, while we appreciated the friendly check-in staff and the good food, the poor customer service during checkout and the cleanliness issues left us with mixed feelings about our stay.
