Rose Apple Hostel

Super clean. Great location. AC works well. Friendly host. Hot water. It was quiet and walkable to everything in minutes. Fluffy towels.

Nothing - just note that not all rooms rave AC so just make sure you check which room you booked. The host was great and I moved into the AC room no problem.

The room was very clean and comfortable, nice people, open kitchen that everyone can use. It’s hard to find so good place in Ahangama for this price. Nothing to complain. The location is very good, as well. Thank you for lovely stay:))

La localisation est idéale pour visiter Ahangama : on est à moins de 10 minutes à pied du centre. La maison est calme, la chambre spacieuse, avec même un petit couloir qui la sépare de la salle de bain, parfait pour poser ses affaires en plus de l’armoire. Tout était très propre, et une cuisine commune est également à disposition, avec un réfrigérateur. Franchement, je recommande : un excellent rapport qualité-prix !

Il faisait un peu chaud malgré le ventilateur, et une grande multiprise serait appréciée, car il n’y a qu’une seule prise dans la chambre (comme dans la plupart des logements au Sri Lanka).

Great stay. Close walk to busy area while being on a quiet street. I picked this hostel for the location as others were too far for my taste. It has a very good restaurant right across that is very busy and very affordable for dinner and there is a small fruit stand right beside it so perfect to buy mango for breakfast. Also a grocery store one minute walk for water etc. I was supposed to stay in ahangama one night but I stayed 4 until my return flight. The place is quiet (not a busy hostel as it’s new) so if you’re looking for a party and social hostel that won’t work. If you’re looking for a clean and homey and relaxing place then that’s for you. The owner was basically cleaning every time I saw him and is a lovely person. We were around 3 on average in the hostel so I was lucky to be alone in my dorm 3 of the 4 nights. This was perfect for the end of my trip after the craziness of social hostels. It just felt like home. One of the rare hostels with proper wifi from dorm and never ran out or toilet paper ! My dorm had AC as well Also there is a gym 2 minutes away.

Just a general note in Sri Lanka hostels to keep yo with hand soap in bathrooms.
