Moss Haven on Hood Canal

Off-grid, but everything was thought of already. Joe is an intelligent creator, I felt like I had everything I needed, even when I didn’t need it yet. Listen to when he explains the property, the attention to detail will do you favors when you wonder if there is something you need… Joe thought of it. 1 Hour to Olympic National Park Visitor center. The view though… wow it’s spectacular. A painting worthy view of Hood Canal, and a chart inside with the tide schedule! The hike to the beach on the property is adventurous and requires some skill, but during low tide, the shore is a massive field of oysters and worth the adventure. There is room for two adults to share a bed, and two small bunks for kids, but it is off-grid, and it’s small. There is ample outdoor space, with an amazing view, so if you see this as a chance to be as close to the outdoors and create your own unexpected memories, then I recommend booking at Moss Haven.

Nothing that I didn’t like. It spoiled me, so I’ll likely have to avoid comparisons during my next stay somewhere.

Great accommodations really just bring food and drinks. A very kind host, a nice setup. I liked the fire place and the bed was comfortable. I liked being able to keep my things secure while exploring. Easy to travel too and find. Loved the view and lots of little touches that really helped polish it all off.

The location was perfect with the most beautiful views and only 10 mins from a few shops but tucked away enough that it felt very private. Joe showed me around the cabin when I first got there and showed where everything was put and how to use it all. He showed me the 2 fires he had already set up for us inside and outside, and the special little things he leaves at the cabin for everyone to use: binoculars for animal watching, a handmade binder of places to visit near there, a national parks pass, a rolling cart to help you bring down your things from your car, and more! Joe was very kind and the cabin was spotless, full of everything you need for a getaway and perfectly cozy.

Not much I didn't like! The walk back up to the cars from the cabin though short, was pretty steep! He can't change mother nature though and he did a great job putting in steps down the pathway to help you get to and from safely. I can't find much fault anywhere else! I'm looking forward to coming back!
