S162 - Modern 2 bed penthouse in Swieqi

Our first time renting a holiday apartment in Malta. Much to like. Very good location. Residential area, well stocked convenience store for groceries just a few doors away. Security is very good with electronic key pad to enter building and another to enter apartment. So no misplaced keys. Flat is quiet, clean, airy with a pleasant decor and a very large terrace, a part of which starts to see shade and shelter from the scorching sun by mid afternoon, which is very convenient. The two bedrooms are comfortable, with a king size bed and a double bed. There is enough storage space in both rooms to empty your suitcases into. There are three bathrooms, (two ensuite) which in itself is impressive (but more on this later). Hot water is supplied by a heated water cylinder. There were 4 of us and we never ran out of hot water. Shower water pressure was very good. The kitchen included, amongst many other appliances, a pod coffee machine, a toaster and a decent sized fridge freezer. There are plenty of two to three square pin adapters around the flat for your own kit should you need any. A major positive and a crucial one, especially in June, was the quality of the air-conditioning, which was excellent! Communication with the property management was very good throughout the process of booking, arranging arrival, and post arrival availability, a response was given within 24hrs.

Although there are 3 bathrooms they're tiny. We were only happy to use one of the 2 showers as it was so small we worried about water going where it shouldn't. This, however, might be the standard size for this type of apartment. I don't know. Internet access via Wi-Fi is provided through a mobile 3G router not a fibreoptic or wired service. It's therefore totally dependant on the mobile signal so bandwidth is limited and variable but it was adequate for our needs. Only 5 devices can connect at any one time and that includes the TV which has no aerial connection and is serviced instead by a Firestick. Having said all this none of these issues bothered us to any significant degree and our overall experience was very positive. We would definitely consider staying here again on a future visit to Malta.
