The Space:
Sancerre is the name of the home, inspired by the French wine region known for purity and finesse, an apt reflection of its calm, balanced design and coastal grace.
The kitchen combines navy tile with marble counters and brass accents, opening to a dining area designed for relaxed meals and quiet evenings. Nearby, the living room offers tailored wall paneling and inviting textures that echo the home’s coastal surroundings. Two bedrooms include queen beds; the third holds a full bed. Laundry is discreetly enclosed for convenience.
Wake to the sounds of the harbor and walk to local favorites like Corner Café for breakfast or The Coffee Grinder on Bowen’s Wharf. Evenings bring lively choices nearby, including Brick Alley Pub, Clarke Cooke House, and 22 Bowen’s. Stroll the waterfront shops, browse art galleries, or book a sunset sail on Narragansett Bay.
Sancerre sits steps from Thames Street and within walking distance of Bannister’s Wharf, Bowen’s Wharf, and King Park Beach. The Cliff Walk and International Tennis Hall of Fame are minutes away, with Bellevue Avenue mansions, coastal trails, and Easton’s Beach easily reached by car or bike.
Guest Access:
Enjoy full private access to the entire 2rd floor apartment and 2nd floor balconies. We have everything you need for a seamless and enjoyable stay. Of note, there are common areas that may be shared by other guests. The 3rd floor observation deck is NOT available to this unit for guest use.

Located in the heart of Newport’s famed Yachting Village, the Harbor and Lower Thames area offers the quintessential coastal experience. Lined with historic wharves, boutique shops, and some of the city’s best restaurants and cafés, it’s a lively stretch that captures the spirit of classic Newport.
Aquidneck Island itself is a coastal enclave known for its scenic charm, historic character, and approachable scale. With most streets limited to 25 mph, the island maintains a calm, family-friendly atmosphere that encourages unhurried exploration. Its intimate size makes it easy to navigate, offering a quiet rhythm that reflects the essence of seaside New England.
Getting Around:
Getting around is easy and enjoyable. Most of our homes are located in residential areas where you can walk, bike, ride a scooter, or rent a golf cart to explore. The islands are relatively small, and with a 25 mph speed limit on most streets, the area stays safe, family-friendly, and relaxed.
Other Things to Note:
This residence is part of Sancerre, a classic Newport home divided into three private apartments. Together, the property can host up to eighteen guests across all floors. Traveling with a larger group? Ask about reserving additional apartments or the entire home for your stay.
One vehicle per guest is permitted. Parking is available in the lot at the top of the street, across from Emmanuel Church, in the spaces marked for resident parking. A parking placard is provided for your stay and must be displayed on your rearview mirror while parked. The placard must be returned before departure to avoid a replacement fee.
Interaction with Guests:
We live right down the street! Please do not hesitate to give us a call or text if you need anything. Otherwise, we like to give our guests their own space to relax and enjoy their stay.
