Very clean. Luxurious comfortable bed, Quiet room and nice touches like mineral water and teapigs tea in the room. Friendly staff. 24 hours access with key, even if the pub is closed.

Even though the bathroom and toilet were private, they were situated across a communal hallway. If they had been accessible from the room, I would have given full marks.

The bathroom and bedroom have been restored beautifully to showcase period features. Everything felt luxurious! I loved all the little details and thoughtful touches. The bedding was very comfortable (gorgeous pillows) and the towels were lovely and big. Just beautifully done! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming and the pub downstairs was lovely! Lots of delicious food, some board games, and a great ambience. There was a little noise in the evening (which we expected, staying above a pub) but it had quietened down by about 11pm and the night itself was very peaceful.

This is only a small thing, and I think it's mentioned in the listing on here, but the bathroom is located across the hallway. We were told that the bathroom was private (only for us to use) and it seemed to be private for the most part, but we heard someone using the shower in the morning. I was staying with my partner so this was more of a funny moment, but if I wanted to mention it because I might have felt more uncomfortable if I was staying alone (as a single woman). Overall, we had a lovely stay and I can't recommend enough! This is a hidden gem that has been so beautifully restored to its former glory.

Location was fine

Had to use extension lead to fit my iphone charger and straighteners as the plug sockets were in restrictive places.
