Wa-U Stay Seoul Hongdae

The host is the highlight of our stay. She was extremely responsive and even sent us 12 2L bottles of water on top of what was already available. I really appreciate her kindness and understanding. The apartment was fully furnished and had everything we needed (including garbage bags for waste). I was very relieved that we didn't have to purchase the bags and also take out the garbage and recycling. There are 3 bedrooms (each with a full bed); one bedroom is downstairs and there is a secret toilet in the laundry room so that guests do not have to share 1 full bathroom. The kitchen is fully stocked and bathroom has toiletries (ex. shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc.). The space gets a lot of good natural light (minus the room in the lower level). You can turn on the floor heater too, which is nice when it's cold out. Internet is fast! In Korea, hotel/motels usually give you 30x70cm towel per person. However, they gave us plenty of new, soft towels and this was a big plus! I would say this is a comfortable stay for young adults (18-mid20's), but not necessarily safe for families with older generations or young kids because they can accidentally fall down the stairs.

I would say the location is closer to Yonsei University than Hongik University. It is by Gungdong Park but up on a hill. If you are someone with mobility issues, you will have difficulty climbing the steep hill and stairs to get to the location. There are also stairs to the unit and stairs in the unit to go to the washing machine. It is close to a bus stop, but the nearest metro station is about a 12min walk. Neighborhood is probably generally quiet, given the area, but there was a film crew right out our window first thing in the morning and construction nearby, so it made it super noisy. Taxis had hard time coming up due to this. We couldn't get the hot water to turn on with good pressure, so the host offered to come next day to try to fix it. They were very prompt.
