La Mera Homestay

I was a bit concerned about booking this place after reading some reviews mentioning noise because of the thin walls. However, I have to say this place exceeded my expectations. Maybe I was lucky since I stayed during the low season, but I had no issues with noise. The room had everything I needed: a comfortable queen or king sizebed, air conditioning, a private shower with hot water, a minibar fridge with complimentary bottled water, towels, a desk, and reliable Wi-Fi. Breakfast was also included in my stay, and I enjoyed a delicious homemade breakfast every morning. I noticed some reviews complaining about the bathroom being outside the room, but I think it's important to read the room descriptions carefully, as they offer both ensuite and shared bathroom options. For only around US$12 per night, I didn't mind having the bathroom outside my room at all. They also provide free bicycles for guests, and the common areas are very relaxing, with plenty of hammocks to unwind in.

Only thing I would say is that at some point the owner left and locked the front door, which left me locked inside. She thought I was out already. Fortunately she came back soon after I wanted to go out, so I could do the things I had planned for that day.

Convenient location, so many amenities, wonderful host, absolute value for price. The room has a powerful AC, a proper geyser, a fridge, cupboard, comfortable airy room, table and chair. Fully equipped kitchen, water coolers everywhere. The host was wonderful, waking up super early to pack us breakfast as we had an early morning check-out. Bikes for free, motorbikes for a nominal fee. Thoroughly enjoyed all of our days here!

A tiny pointer is that due to the structure of the rooms, I think walls are shared, and so sound travels a lot. We didn’t encounter much issue because I believe we were the only people staying for the majority of our stay. But yes, might become an issue when there are more people staying.

The staff were very friendly. I feel I am home with the quite neigborhood.
