Location
The apartment is in a pedestrian zone close to the historic centre of Sanremo. There is always something to do in Sanremo, with festivals held throughout the year. In addition to these, the city’s Casino provides a glamorous backdrop for many activities, not just the roulette tables.
The city’s long history can be seen in its architecture and streets. The La Pigna district is a maze of caruggi (alleyways) and excellent, family-run restaurants. The Corso degli Inglesi is a nod to the 19th Century, here you will find the Municipal Casino and the Russian Orthodox Church. The city’s villas with their well-tended gardens are also worth a visit.
For those who love cycling with a view of the sea, the Ponente Ligure cycle path offers breathtaking scenery. Between maritime pines and beaches, the path winds along the coast for 24 km. It is passable on foot, by bicycle, roller skates and skateboards. It is suitable for families with children, with refreshment points and bike rental. The Circolo Golf degli Ulivi is the oldest and most prestigious sports institution in the city, an 18-hole course among the most loved in Liguria.
The old town’s covered market is a must (every day except Sunday). Here you can buy the best local olive oil, cheeses, wines, vegetables and fruit to try at home.
The closest airport is at Nice (France) and is just over a 1-hour drive. Genoa airport is 1 hour and 45 minutes from the apartment.
