Aivazovsky Congress Hotel & Spa

Shiny and new hotel near the centre of the city. Great pool and spa facilities, the attendant couldn’t have been more helpful despite the language barrier. Comfortable and clean rooms. Really good choice for breakfast.

Fridge in room not great at keeping things cold

A nice new hotel located slightly away from the town center and the main square, but still within the walking distance. The room was spacious enough for two adults with luggage and well-equipped. I especially loved the bed and pillows, they were incredibly comfortable and relaxing. Even though our room faced the street, it wasn't noisy at all, and nothing disturbed our sleep during the stay. The hotel is named after a famous maritime painter, so the hallways are decorated with his artwork. His most famous piece 'The Ninth Wave' is displayed right in front of the reception desk. The buffet breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety. We also really enjoyed the pool and spa area; the changing rooms are separate for men and women, but the spa zone itself is shared. Overall we had a wonderful stay.

The only minor downside was: During booking, I mentioned my husband would be celebrating his birthday during our stay, and the hotel confirmed they would arrange a small complimentary treat. On the actual day, we were out all day, but when we returned, there was nothing in the room. I had to remind the reception staff about our arrangement. Of course, they fixed it right away, but having to ask for it was a bit disappointing.

New in city, good location, excellent stuff, clean. Large room, with balcony, parking. Very good swimming pool and spa.

I took twin with separate beds. They are small in width and uncomfortable. Mattress are noisy, main function of hotel is not done well. I hope other rooms have better beds and mattress. lifts are slow and mix up and down buttons.

The swimming pool and sauna area were excellent. Billiard room was good, too. The room was clean, and we had a good view of the city centre as well as the mountains. Fresh, seasonal fruits for breakfast. And the variety was good enough for 5 nights overall.

The breakfast was partially stale once or twice, but that's a minor thing. Please note that the location is not directly in the city centre, but we were prepared for that.
