Villa Type B / 2 bedroom villa Has 2 actual bedrooms (upstairs bedroom has two double mattresses on floor, downstairs bedroom has one double bed and a dressing table). Upstairs has the small living room with TV, couch and full-length mirror. Both bedrooms are on the ‘view’ side of the building, gorgeous. Spectacular views. Breathtaking, truly beautiful. Staff greeted us on arrival and showed us in. Said they’re available at reception 24/7 and they were very helpful. Rindi was our WA contact (when they realised our Bahasa Indonesia was only basic she reached out to us) she was extremely responsive, helpful and respectful. Appreciated this touch. Arranged 2 x moto hire via WA in advance, very easy and afford- remember to ask for helmets and check condition of bikes if you do this. One of the staff took my husband’s cousin to an early morning hike because we didn’t want to get up so early to drive her, for a minimal fee, just to help us out. Very kind. Bathroom (wet room, downstairs) is kinda small but did the job. Western toilet. Some issues with dripping taps which were addressed immediately. Basics are provided (shampoo, body wash, toothbrush, coffee sachets, free drinking water you can top up your own vessels from). Correct amount of towels for us 3 were provided. Kitchen (downstairs) is enough to cook, fry pan, rice cooker, small saucepan, kettle to make coffee/tea, little bit of cutlery. Location on highway outside of town centre (about 15-20 minute walk), heading toward the hot springs which are fantastic at night after hiking. Mosque is not too loud.

It’s pretty cold at night, though this seems to be a problem at every accommodation in Dieng. These villas are concrete, so better than some other wooden places we saw. It is 10 degrees or lower at night! We used both duvets on one bed and used extra bedding we brought from home. I’d strongly recommend bringing a ‘hot water bottle’ to Dieng, and warm pyjamas. *{Future hoteliers in Dieng: a great idea would be to build WARM villas, maybe with a nice fireplace or proper heating (reverse-cycle AC/heating units are available in Indonesia) rather than just build for aesthetics. Ceiling-floor windows offer stunning views but means it gets cold quickly. Even a small heater or electric blanket would help.} Right off the main highway so there is some traffic noise though it didn’t keep us up. Internet was fine though not amazing. Hot showers were pretty good but a little inconsistent (boiling hot one day, cold one night and one morning, rest of time warm or very hot). Staff responded to messages to help with this though. Can’t adjust temperature in the bathroom but you can outside. There is no carpet (as it says in the listing). There’s a small rug on lounge floor. Note that there is no fridge.
