We were in Tilcara for just a few days. This place is a little way out from the bus station and centre and up a hill, but near the start of the Garganta Del Diablo walk which I highly recommend. There is a shop nearby with necessities, although prices are higher than in the centre. The kitchen has two hobs, and is well equipped with salt, oil, and some spices. It is very clean, and the bathroom had a lovely scent!

The price was higher than stated on the booking.com - it included a 'commission' that I wasn't aware of, separate from the VAT which foreigners are exempted from. When I called booking.com to ask about it, they said that to have it refunded one would need to contact the municipal authority - that isn't feasible for most foreign travellers. Despite this, it was still a good place to stay overall.
