About this cabin rental
The space
The Goldfinch Cabin is one of several accommodations at The Carpenter Inn. The interior offers a cozy space to curl up with a good book on the couch or play board games with friends and family. The wood stove is stocked with dry firewood for those colder nights. There is also a charcoal grill on the deck for grilling. The cabin itself is at the end of a gravel road in a forested hollow offering privacy and seclusion.
Beside the cabin there is a large fire pit available to use with surrounding seating. Dry split firewood is provided.
Guest access
The entire cabin is yours during your stay!
Guests are also very welcome to explore the main grounds of the inn where they can find large flower gardens, a stocked pond for fishing or swimming, and the main office of the inn. We encourage guests to hike and explore our 300+ acres of forests and fields and can provide a map showing the property’s trails and perimeter.
The cabin is located down a private gravel drive. There is a small section of the road that is particularly steep. We frequently add gravel to the road to maintain accessibility, but it can be a little bumpy in spots where the larger gravel may be loose. We recommend that you drive at a steady speed or in low gear up the hill for better traction, especially if your vehicle doesn’t have four-wheel drive.
There are two parking spots beside the cabin. If you have more than two vehicles, you are welcome to park additional cars in our main parking lot located at the top of the hill. The walk down the hill from the main parking lot is about 900ft.
Other things to note
Due to our cabin’s very private location in the woods the cabin does not have WiFi or a TV. If you need access to the internet during your stay, you are very welcome to use the WiFi on the main grounds of the inn located at the top of the hill.
Cell phone reception can be spotty inside the cabin. Larger carriers, such as AT&T and Verizon do come in well enough, especially on the deck, though we have heard Sprint and T-Mobile do not.
Although it takes a little getting used to at first, a stay at our cabin provides an opportunity to disconnect from technology and our often busy lives and focus on the natural environment and one another. Something our past guests have appreciated most about their stay!
