Enjoy a stylish experience at this centrally located unit in a historically renovated home (2025). Well-equipped kitchen including an induction stove and the whole house water filtration in addition to the under sink reverse osmosis system; clean water for sure!!
Check-in: The door access code shall be sent to you on the day of your arrival.
Check-out: Nothing out of the ordinary other than that your stay was pleasant and comfortable. I believe you shouldn’t have to do chores on your holiday!!
This is an ideal place to stay while exploring the best of St. Louis! Walking distance to Forest Park (zoo, golf, museums), shops, restaurants, theaters, universities, and medical centers. No squeaky metal bed frames here!! Quality furniture and organic linens from Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn, Arhaus, and antiques for a comfortable home away from home stay.
House: I am the only permanent resident in the house, unless my kids are visiting, in a totally separate wing. There’s a short term rental unit on the third floor mostly on weekends. You may see the housekeeper, Will, but it's rare we get in your way; we all do try to stay out of your way.
We are still in recovery mode from the recent tornado on 5/16/25, but this particular unit has been completely renovated except for one window in a closet. Thank you for your understanding with these minor inconveniences.
There is an extra dining table and four chairs in the 3rd floor laundry room. A few baby items are stowed away in the closet: high chair, bassinet, bouncy seat, etc.
Trash: There are three dumpsters in the back alley: trash, recycling, and green.
Greenhouse: Feel free to check out any of the outside features including the greenhouse!
Parking: plenty of street parking. If you prefer, there’s a pad in the backyard.
Eco-friendly: This unit and the entire building are maintained with mostly natural and organic products. During the warmer seasons, the front and the back yards teem with native and organic herbs and vegetation. You are welcome to any of the bounty. There are always too much basil, peppers, and tomatoes!
Forest Park: It is one of the largest public parks in the U.S. There are too many features to mention but the main ones are: zoo, golf course, museums, lagoon (paddle boats, fishing), waterfall, baseball fields, cricket fields, etc. Half a mile from the unit with plenty of free parking.
In addition to being a beautiful and walkable neighborhood, there are two bicycles available for farther excursions as well as umbrellas available for guests’ use.
Neighborhood/area
Just behind the house, Steve’s Hot Dog (national fame on FoodTV, I think), Fountain on Delmar (crazy good ice cream treats and cocktails), and Nixta (upscale Mexican).
Within walking distance two blocks east on Delmar are Esca (decent Mediterranean and vegetarian for dinner), Florentin (breakfast/lunch Mediterranean influence), Olio, and Beyond Sweet (lunch/dinner).
Also walking distance (a block east on Delmar) is Third Degree Glass where one can shop, watch, or learn how to blow glass. Beautiful stuff!
Two miles west of the house in the Loop are dozens of restaurants and entertainment options. Turmeric has good dosas and curries, but their service can be spotty. Corner17 makes hand-pulled noodles in front of the diners and an endless selection of boba tea, fruit drinks, and teas. Service here is spotty also.
Off the beaten path, not your typical breakfast fare, and my favorite spot is about 6 miles away called Egg on Gravois. Interesting menu and well executed.
Good typical breakfast fare can be found at Songbird, Original Pancake House, and Chris’ Pancake House.
If you like naturally leavened bread modeled on old world technique, Unionloafers should not be missed. In addition to bread, sandwiches/soups/salads are excellent, and the pizzas served at night are amazing.
For dinner, Louie on Demun is consistently excellent for modern Italian, Nobu is amazing for Omakase style sushi. These two are difficult to get reservations so plan early!
The house is about a mile from the heart of Central West End with variety of restaurants, crazy good cupcakes (The Cup), Lululemon, beautiful old homes, good nursery (Bowood), the Cathedral, etc.
Foundry: dozens of food options along with some shopping, movie theater, mini golf, etc.
Groceries: There’s a city sized Wholefoods and Straubs in the Central West End.
Entertainment:
-Top Golf: 3 miles east
-Grand Center: St. Louis Symphony, Fox Theater
-The City Museum (more of an amusement park than arts-related)
If you are in need of a work space, I have a standing desk available and a chair. There’s also a printer/scanner (HP1AFFA6) available on the network. I can grab the copies for you once you print. Just let me know.
Free Tesla Level 2 Charger
