The little Manatee Retreat

Carla and Clint were AMAZING! They are top tier hosts who put such love and care into making their place welcoming, cozy, and completely private. This is not just a room you stay in, this is a mini bungalow, minus a kitchen, but it still has a little coffee bar and dining area to enjoy. It exudes a true Florida home, from the adorable Manatee decor inside and outside on the patio, to the blinds, ceiling fan and lakeside aviary view. We got to see wild Sand Cranes fly around the lake and land 50 feet from us. I can't get enough of this place. It truly felt like a home away from home. Carla absolutely knows what she's doing having such an amazing place for guests especially with years of experience under her belt. And it absolutely shows! Comfy couch to watch tv on, a desk if you need to work, tub shower with the best water pressure and hot water that had me melting after a long adventurous day. All the little details, including a booklet that Carla provides with all their recommendations for the best things to do or eat in the area. I highly recommend First Watch for breakfast and Antonio's for their pizza. Fantastic location to the local springs there, 15 mins from Kelly Park - Rock Springs and equidistant to Wekiwa Springs too. They even give you a little magnet of their retreat as a keepsake! I cannot wait to come back for my next springs visit.

From the moment we arrived, we knew this place was something special. Before we even stepped inside, we were welcomed by a little chalkboard with our names on it - a simple gesture, but one that immediately made us feel like guests rather than customers. The apartment itself is a private suite with its own entrance, attached to the hosts’ home. It’s beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and filled with thoughtful little details. You can tell that every part of it has been created with care - and with an obvious love for manatees, which gives the place its own unique charm. One of our favourite surprises was the guest information folder. Instead of the usual collection of house rules, it contains fantastic recommendations for the local area, things to do, places to eat and hidden gems. It felt like getting advice from a good friend rather than reading a standard welcome booklet. The location is simply wonderful. Nestled in a peaceful neighbourhood beside a beautiful lake, it’s the perfect place to slow down. In the evening we sat by the fire pit, watched the sunset over the water and enjoyed the incredible wildlife. We even had Sandhill Cranes wandering right past us. When we wanted a closer look at the birds and other animals, our hosts happily lent us a pair of binoculars. What really makes this place exceptional, though, is the hospitality.

very nice private and safe neighborhood with a lake close by making the location feel more peaceful. Carla was very nice and kind to tour us around the property and made us feel at home. Room was clean and spacious and had all the amenities we needed. Definitely will stay here again when we visit the area.

Wunderschöne Unterkunft direkt am See - von hier aus kann man sehr viel erkunden. Die Besitzer Carla und Clint sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns wohlgefühlt und die Zeit genossen.

Es hat leider keine Küchenzeile zum kochen usw.
