I rented this for a surprise quick getaway for my husband's 50th birthday. We had a nice relaxing time and enjoyed the beautiful weather. It was located near the Cheaha State Park, so we enjoyed going there to see the sites. We also loved the pontoon/dock, what a creative idea. Loved being down there enjoying the silence and water. The firepit was perfect in the evenings as well. *Note: Regular gas grill on location, not a Blackstone as advertised. It is nice and new, just glad I changed my menu plan prior to coming. Also, the hot tub never reached temp in the 36hrs we were there so could not use. Disappointed in that. Otherwise, great property!

My wife and I were just trying to get away for a couple of days without our kids and this was exactly what we were looking for. About 20 minutes from Cheaha State Park, this house sits on Lake Gerald (which was a hidden gem) with more kayaks than people you could fit in the small house. If you're really tall you might be hunching in the bathroom (I'm 6'2" and my head was close to the bathroom ceiling) but it's what I'd expect from a small cozy getaway. While it is close to the road, my wife (who usually is a terrible sleeper) said the road was really quiet all night.
A bonus (at least as of May 2025) is that most of the cutlery, dishes, and appliances appeared to be new and in great shape (first rental we stayed in with sharp knives!). The outdoor grill was also really nice to have.
Also, we enjoyed going to Boondocks BBQ and Ice Cream over in Wedowee (25 minutes away). I felt like this spot had a lot of little hidden gems like that.
If you're looking for a really simple getaway, this place is perfect. Of our trips without our kids, this was probably the best.

So peaceful and the view of the lake ! AMAZING!! Whoever decorated the place did an outstanding job ! It was just what we needed for our weekend getaway! Loved it ! Highly Recommend this place 💯💯💯
