The Secret Garden - Family Home with Hot Tub, Central

Wow! Outstanding house and garden, including a hot tub. What's more, there are chickens in the garden, so it was lovely to have, freshly laid eggs for breakfast. Some organic fruits also in the garden, which we helped ourselves to. Nice to relax in the hot tub after a day of walking in Abel Tasman park. The hosts were very helpful and accomodating. The house had everything we needed and felt very homely. Clean, spacious, comfortable. The beds were just super comfy. Great shower and all the extras, such as complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits were nice added touch. Washing machine, dishwasher and fully equipped kitchen. Good location, very close to High St, lots of shops and about 15min drive to Kaiteriteri beach. I would definitely stay here again, in fact the kids and adult (my husband) did not want to leave. Highly recommended.

Only minor issues, such as the toilet flush not working sometimes but host was notified and hopefully will be remedied soon. We toggled the flush button and got it working so wasn't an issue really plus we only stayed 2 nights. Might be annoying to someone staying longer if issue persists. One of the windows in the dining room wouldn't close properly, so a little security concern and bugs entering house but the neighbourhood felt safe and house was relatively bug free except a couple of large cockroaches that scared us, nothing to do with hosts. The house is very clean and bug free otherwise.

Loved the location, close to the 'Mot' high street but still relatively quiet, we all enjoyed the chicken's and spa and the place was very clean and had all that we needed. The gardens had so many beautiful flowers and fruit growing.

We found the beds to be very firm to the point of feeling hard and certainly won't suit everybody.

Loved the garden and chickens, the spa pool, nice homely house. I liked the sustainability of the property.
