Vir is a mecca family holiday, with majority private accommodation each year attracts more and more visitors. Advantages are numerous, and we'll just mention some of them: Beautiful mostly sand and pebble beaches, partly situated near pine forest with crystal clear water, making this island a perfect place for a family vacation. Even 2450 hours of sunshine per year, almost 300 days of sunshine that allows tourists a pleasant stay and out of season. A number of picturesque bays and inlets with piers allow docking sailors on their way to a chain of 300 islands and islets, including the Kornati National Park. In addition to swimming, surfing, sailing, scooter and other water sports, enjoy walking can be from the top Bandire (112m) marvel beautiful panorama depicting the entire Vir, nearby islands and Velebit (1750m). Because of its location on the Adriatic coast, Vir is an ideal starting point for trips to national parks: Paklenica with its impressive canyons, the Kornati with 200 islands and islets, Krka and Plitvice Lakes. Nearby is the ancient town of Nin with the smallest cathedral in the world - St. The cross, and the 3000 years old Zadar with many historical monuments. - Bicycle and hiking trails - Virski ring asphalt trail 15 km and 45 km makadanskih paths (cycling, trekking, jogging,) - arrangement of 12 km beach (equipping with umbrellas, deckchairs, toilets, lodged them.
