The outdoor swimming pool can be reached on foot in just a few minutes. The winter sports resort of Oberhof is probably the best known in Thuringia. It actually offers the complete winter sports programme for everyone, from bobsleighing, biathlon, ski jumping and cross-country skiing (also all year round in the largest indoor ski hall in Europe). Many visitors who have been to this idyllic area of Schmalkalden are drawn back again and again. There are numerous and above all attractive excursion destinations in and around Schmalkalden, so that one week is not enough to see everything.
