The village is surrounded by water and forest and has cycle and hiking trails that lead through green forests - along waterways - away from the main roads. The waterway through 1000-year-old Mecklenburg is one of the most beautiful inland water sports areas in Central Europe. By bike, kayak, canoe and on foot, you can explore the "Land of Lakes" and get to know the dense primeval forests and glistening lakes of Mecklenburg. In the midst of the enchanting landscape of lakes and hills, mighty castles, magnificent churches and manor houses with extensive parks are reminders of the eventful history of this region. As you glide through the water in a kayak, only the splashing of the paddles and the chirping of birds interrupts the deep silence. Lush green trees line the banks and provide shade. The landscape is reflected in the clear rivers and lakes. The banks are a paradise for numerous bird species. Cycle along small side roads lined with old trees.
