Tomales Hotel, Minutes from Dillon Beach

Nice sized room with comfortable beds and pillows. It’s completely a self check in hotel that was easy to get in and out. Building has cool history and across the street you find a general store and caddy corner is a nice bakery.

It wasn’t a problem for us but i can see that some people might like having staff on sight.

Very clean very quiet. Bed was very comfortable. The digital door locks all worked properly and were easy to use.

Just know before you reserve. Location is in a very small town about 4 or 5 miles from Dillion beach. There’s a bakery across the street that closes at 3:00 pm and a general store (not sure when that closes), that’s about it. Know ahead if you want an evening meal you will be driving. There is a bar with bar food maybe 6 miles away. The no front desk attendant and digital door locks worked good it just seemed odd to us. We question what process would take place if there really was an issue.

It’s an adorable historic building, with beautiful moldings and decor.

The building was overall cold. We could heat our room, but the common spaces were cold and we had to get coffee in the lobby so you couldn’t avoid it. There wasn’t anything in town but a general store that was opened. The cafe/pizza was closed while we were there. Being an unattended facility was somewhat strange. We had a problem with no internet so when I called they asked me to plug and unplug the modem in the lobby, which I did , but it didn’t fix the problem. Because we had no internet we couldn’t stream, so we didn’t have TV. They sent us a memo saying wrong would get compensated for that, but, I haven’t seen any credit yet. Also, it felt a little weird to have all these people in the building staying in other rooms and no one responsible for our safety.
