Fernhurst is a picturesque village in the South Downs National Park in West Sussex, England. Surrounded by rolling countryside and woodland, it sits near Blackdown—the highest point in Sussex—which offers wide views over the Weald. The village has a traditional green, a mix of historic cottages and modern homes, and a friendly community with local shops, pubs, and regular village events. It’s a popular area for walking, cycling, and exploring the scenic landscapes of the western South Downs.

Access to the property is via a smartlock system, giving convenience to arrive whenever suits you. Instructions will be sent 48 hours prior to your stay.

Inside, the Loft features a comfortable bedroom with an en suite bathroom, complete with a bathtub for relaxing soaks after a day exploring the local area. The space includes private parking, a separate entrance, and well-equipped amenities, ensuring a restful stay with the privacy of a self-contained retreat and the comfort of a serviced experience when desired.

The property’s historic charm is evident throughout. Original beams, roof trusses, beautifully aged doors, traditional floorboards, and a characterful staircase all celebrate its heritage while sitting harmoniously alongside contemporary furnishings and thoughtful touches.

Please note: access to the Loft is via a steep, narrow staircase with restricted head height, which adds to its character but makes it unsuitable for wheelchair users or guests with mobility issues.

Train: The closest train station is Haslemere. Once you arrive in Haslemere, there is a taxi rank at the train station, or you will need to use local bus services or other modes of transportation to reach the property.

Bus: There are bus services connecting Haslemere to Fernhurst.

Car: If you have access to a car, you can drive direct to the property.

Please note: access to the Loft is via a steep, narrow staircase with restricted head height, which adds to its character but makes it unsuitable for wheelchair users or guests with mobility issues. The Loft is on the site of the owners main residence and is located above their building. It is private but you may see the owners from time to time! There are two other cottages here also, The Cottage and The Barn so you may see other holiday guests during your stay.
