A kind agent of the rental company (Mariana) took great extra trouble to help us when our arrival from the airport was delayed by a public transport strike. The high-ceilinged air-conditioned studio apartment (a slightly quirky conversion in a pre-modern building) was smart, quiet and quite spacious, very clean, and comprehensively equipped for a couple of guests. It was handily located on a busy old commercial street in the upper town, close to metro stations and a famous market.
Our apartment was up 2 long flights of (well-made) wooden stairs from the street door. There was another flat on the floor above and one below, probably operated by the same proprietor. Our flat would have been difficult to reach for guests with mobility problems.
