Spacious Country Escape in Heart of Northumberland

Comfortable cottage, lots of beds, nicely decorated, good location for the town, supermarket, pubs etc Vindalanda and Hexham. I hour from Newcastle/Beamish. Toilet paper, soap, towels and bedding provided. Smart TV with apps and great WIFi.

Whilst the kitchen was well stocked it could have done with some tongs for cooking, a couple of dishwasher tablets would have been handy. The front door was a massive pain worked one minute not the next - just use the back door. Whose bins are whose is a bit of a guess, numbers on bins would have been useful. Also a mop would be useful as laminate floor can get dirty quickly when everyone is in and out all day. Limited clothes storage in rooms which seems to be standard nowadays and some rooms are a little on the tight side 8 adults is fine, more than 8 would be cramped though 6 and 4 children would probably work.. The downstairs bathroom is a shower come utility room with a separate toilet inside and only a laundry sink not a vanity. There are 2 toilets only and not 3 as we had assumed which for 10/13 might be bit of a struggle.

The property was in a good location to sites and we loved the open living area and kitchen. There was also a sainsburys 2 minute walk away, so that was really handy.

The property was on a main road, so there was noise from the cars driving by and people walking past. The property had a few maintenance issues, but nothing that impacted our stay too much. The external bin was completely full when we arrived, so we had to put bin bags next to the bin. Also the fridge and dishwasher were quite small for a group of 12. Double beds were also quite small for couples. Twin beds put together were much more spacious for couples.
