ELIVAAS Signature Mallai

We expected a little more from Mallai by Elivaas, especially considering the price range. Our first contact, Nagaraj, was very friendly and genuinely did his best to make our stay pleasant, and communication with him was good. The pool was larger and better than expected, and we were happy that breakfast could be arranged, as we had assumed from Booking.com that there would be no breakfast option. Unfortunately, the property is not as well maintained as we expected from a luxury stay. Although it appears relatively new, there were already issues such as loose outdoor lights, missing bedside lamps, exposed electrical wires and visible limescale in the bathroom, which gave it a less clean and well-maintained appearance. The villa itself was also quite basic and sparsely furnished, with limited space to put personal belongings. The repeated calls about breakfast were frustrating. Although we requested breakfast for 9:00 AM, we were called at 8:30 AM to say it was ready and again ten minutes later asking us to come immediately. On our last morning, despite arranging breakfast for 9:00 PM the evening before, we were woken at 7:30 AM and called again later. Perhaps this was intended as good service, but it made the stay less relaxing. The Chennai airport transfer is also very expensive at INR 5,000 one way, so we recommend arranging your own taxi. Overall, the property has potential, but at this price level we expected better maintenance, more comfortable furnishing and a more relaxed approach to guest service.
