Mariners Haven in Troon

Property was immaculately clean, spacious, lovely bath, great location, on street parking available. Tea and coffee and biscuits (and local tablet) supplied. Beds comfortable. Good blackout curtains in bedrooms and stair mezzanine level, which was helpful as we were travelling with our toddler.

Nespresso coffee machine in kitchen mentioned on list of facilities but no pods supplied for this, the instant coffee sachets provided did not last us long as used to stronger coffee from coffee machine so had to go and buy coffee. Shower actually subdivided by small barrier door inside into two compartments which made it narrower and meant my husband could not comfortably fit into it and had to have a body wash rather than a shower. This had not been clear from the photos. Window in main double bedroom was stiff/did not open -we did not push it further as did not want to risk breaking it. The window in toddler's room did open and the window lock was low enough for him to reach which was worrying as on 1st/2nd floor, we pulled his curtains so he was less likely to explore window. We initially couldn't find any keys to lock windows with but my husband found one in the lounge window lock. Property not particularly child/baby friendly as door handles and edge of bath etc at just right height for him to hit his head off but that is not accomodation's fault. Also beige carpets throughout (except kitchen and bathroom floors) which was nerve-wracking in dining room and with potty-training toddler, and lots of ornaments and breakable objects in living room (vases/glass or china lampshade bases, glass coasters). Otherwise very happy with holiday home.
