Rating: 1/5 (Terrible) I am writing this review immediately after one of the most disgusting and negligent customer service experiences I have ever encountered in the hospitality business, entirely attributable to the hotel owner's complete disregard for his paying guests. We were a tired group of six checking into The Silverstone Resort after a long day of travel from Bhubaneswar. We simply wanted a quick, peaceful dinner. What we received was an insulting demonstration of how little this establishment cares about its customers. Abysmal Service Timeline: 8:30 PM: Placed a simple order (Dal Fry, Jeera Rice, Sabji, Roti, Sandwich). 9:45 PM: Our food finally arrived – incomplete (missing rotis). A 75-minute wait for a basic order. 9:50 PM: We received the first round of rotis. 9:55 PM+: After finishing our first rotis, we waited an additional 20-25 minutes for the next round. Our rice and curry had gone completely cold. We placed a subsequent re-order for more rotis and Dal/Rice that NEVER CAME. Owner's Appalling Negligence: The entire, disastrous situation was amplified by the presence of the hotel owner, who arrived and sat at a table directly behind us. 1. Prioritizing Himself: While we were sitting, desperate, hungry, and waiting for over an hour, the owner was suddenly being served before us! We watched in disbelief as food intended for our table was shamelessly diverted to him. 2. Ignored and Neglected: All available staff were busy attending to their boss, completely ignoring our repeated pleas for service and the rest of our food. One member of our group was so frustrated and lost his appetite that he did not eat the rest of his dinner. 3. The Confrontation: Because every single waiter was ignoring us, I had to go to the kitchen myself to demand that the cook serve us first, as we had been waiting for over an hour and a half. The Rude and Dismissive Response: Upon finishing his own dinner, the owner finally came over—not to apologize or correct the situation, but to rudely chastise me for going to the kitchen, instructing me to 'report to reception.' When I told him that an owner in a hospitality business should question why his customers are so neglected they have to storm the kitchen, and that I would be leaving a negative review, his response was utterly contemptuous: "DO IT." Even his own parents, who were present, acknowledged the owner's mistake and the severe mismanagement. Conclusion: This experience was not just bad service; it was a clear sign of an owner who has zero respect for his customers, their time, or the basic principles of hospitality. His negligence and subsequent dismissive arrogance are a blight on this resort. If the owner prioritizes his own meal over paying guests who have been waiting for 90 minutes, you know this is an establishment to AVOID at all costs. I strongly recommend travelers choose any other hotel in Puri.
