I stayed for a week with my teenage son at ERA. We had come for quiet, rest and recuperation, and what we got was nothing short of love.
The resort is an hour from Kodi proper which means the hustle-bustle is accessible easily, but enough of a distance that one can be in nature. The road leading to the resort gives you the feeling that you are somewhere remote, exclusive, extra-special. I recommend keeping a car and driver for the duration of your stay so that you can be spontaneous when you want to explore the area.
The staff -- particularly Alaudin and Mohamed -- were diligently attentive. They took care of our every need. The staff took us in their jeep to nearby natural spots to enjoy the rivers, hills, waterfalls. They took us to a tribal village where we could meet and interact with local families.
They had plenty of suggestions for day trips and activities in the area.
Since the road leading straight out of the resort requires a jeep (something that adds to the charm of this place), resort staff drove us to the road below every time we had a cab pick us up or drop us off.
Two main highlights of the resport itself are the magical pool -- you feel you are literally in the hills. I enjoyed it every day, before breakfast. I can't decide which was more heavenly - the pool or the food. Every single thing we ate was off the charts delicious. On our last evening, I requested an item that wasn't on the menu: venn pongal. It was the best mouthwatering pongal I have eaten in my life.
I find myself missing the views, the pool, and the very warm and affectionate people that run this resort the same way I miss my family.
They are buiding a club house, a children's playground, and I have recommended a small quiet room with couches, desks, good wifi and unobstructed views, for people who have come there to read and write.
Can'r recommend this place enough!
I will definitely be returning.
