About this house rental
The west of the island is uninhabited but the wildlife is abundant. There are some great examples of raised beaches, numerous caves and the whirlpool of Corryvrecken off the northern tip of Jura. Keils is situated 0.5 mile outside Craighouse and is a small quiet crofting township, also located here is the ancient Kilearnadil cemetery. For the adventurist, why not climb a pap to enjoy the views as far as Ireland or take a trip to see the famous Corryvreckan whirlpool. Walk to Barnhill to see where George Orwell wrote 1984 or visit one of Jura`s numerous standing stones. For the naturalist, Jura has abundant wildlife which is easy to spot. There are approx. 7,000 red deer, wild goats, seals, various birds of prey including Golden Eagles and Sea Eagles and the occasional pod of dolphins.
