The Colonial Escape in Galle is a charming villa-style stay with just five rooms, making it feel intimate and peaceful. It’s modest in appearance, yet thoughtfully equipped with all the essentials you would expect from a comfortable hotel. Its location is another advantage- close enough to the historic Galle Dutch Fort without being in the middle of the bustle.
We were fortunate to visit when the villa was entirely unoccupied, which meant we had the whole place to ourselves. The experience felt especially personal, with a private butler and a team of staff who were incredibly warm, attentive, and always ready to help.
The rooms are neat and well cared for, and the food is genuinely enjoyable. If you’re looking for a quiet, welcoming place that feels more like a home than a hotel, this is an excellent choice!
