West Cottage - Elie

The location was ideal for a holiday with our primary school aged grandchildren. We loved sitting on the balcony and just looking at the view. The set up with 3 bathrooms was great for a shared family holiday. We are familiar with Elie having stayed at St Albans and Ampersand in the past decades and the location of West Cottage made us feel at home.

The pots and pans had a non-stick coating that has been scratched through use and there is so much publicity about the dangers of non-stick coating. So stainless steel pots and pans would be much better. Also, the front downstairs twin room shower ran uncontrollably hot and cold and the basin had been cracked and stuck back together. It was very hot upstairs, even when we reduced the temperature on the thermostat and quite chilly in the downstairs bedrooms. The bin labels on the recycling bins outside had faded and were unreadable so it was impossible to tell which bin was for which recycling or general waste. The kitchen bins were fine.
