About this house rental
Lake Superior Getaway with Deck & Water Views
Wake up to unforgettable sunrises over Whitefish Bay at this one-of-a-kind lakefront getaway. Set on 2.75 acres with 100 feet of private shoreline, this home blends modern comfort with the rugged beauty of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
Step outside to a large deck overlooking Lake Superior, perfect for morning coffee, outdoor dining, or stargazing after dark—on clear nights, you might even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights dancing across the sky. The spacious yard offers plenty of room to play and unwind, while the surrounding woods provide peace and privacy.
At the water’s edge, a solid seawall with stone steps leads directly down to the lake, giving you easy access for kayaking, paddleboarding, or even Yooperlite rock hunting—a uniquely local experience where fluorescent stones light up under UV light along the Lake Superior shoreline.
Inside, enjoy a bright, fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable living area with a pellet stove, and an upstairs balcony off the primary bedroom offering another beautiful view of the bay. With three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and thoughtful amenities like Wi-Fi–controlled climate, a whole-home generator, and a two-car garage (perfect for storing snowmobiles or side-by-sides), this home balances cozy charm with practical convenience.
Outdoor adventurers will love the property’s proximity to over 100 miles of trail systems, where you can ride from one side of the Upper Peninsula to the other—whether by snowmobile, ATV, or side-by-side.

The house was great but I was definitely underprepared for the amount of mosquitoes.

This was my first time to the UP and it was a great stay thanks to Don and his chalet. He reached out before our stay, and during as well. The breakfast table view was lovely, and we were able to tell the wind direction just from looking at the lake. Inside of the chalet was cozy, and warm, with nice comfortable furniture, keurig option, washer dryer, etc. The location was so conveniently close to Whitefish Point, where we rock hunted by day and night (where we found yoopers!), and Tahquamenon Falls too. One note of appreciation is that the bedroom lamps had USB ports for charging essentials. Thanks for giving us a home away from home, Don!
