Escape to The Garden Loft, a private coastal bungalow in Sausalito featuring a serene, beautifully landscaped garden oasis with a BBQ patio. A short stroll brings you to the waterfront's charming shops, bay-view dining, and the scenic ferry to San Francisco. Perfect for couples or solo travelers seeking peaceful relaxation, with easy access to lively cafés, coastal trails, and parks — a true walker's paradise.
The space: Settle into our beautifully appointed 500 sq ft apartment with direct access to the garden — your own private oasis. Take in the tranquil garden views from the cozy sitting area, rest well on the queen bed dressed in cotton linens, and make use of the well-equipped kitchenette (small fridge, coffee maker, convection oven/microwave). You're a short walk from downtown Sausalito and minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge, Muir Woods, and the ferry to San Francisco.
Guest access: The entire private guesthouse on the ground floor is exclusively yours, with easy self check-in through a secure keypad. David lives in the separate residence upstairs, so your stay is completely private and independent.
Other things to note: The location is ideal for kayaking, paddleboarding, scenic bike rides, and hiking along Richardson Bay. For a memorable outing, seaplane and helicopter tours depart nearby, offering breathtaking aerial views of San Francisco, West Marin, and the surrounding bays. Stroll to the local marina, explore bars and restaurants on Caledonia Street, visit the Bay Model's working hydraulic model of the bay just across the street, or catch a ferry to Tiburon, Angel Island, Larkspur, or San Francisco. Dunphy Park is great for picnics, volleyball, and bocce ball, and grocery stores including Driver's Market, Molly Stone's, and Good Earth are close by.

Our stay at this lovely spot was perfect. The location is wonderful, walkable to historic Sausalito but missing all the tourist chaos. There is a yummy breakfast/lunch place right around the block (Fred's Place) and Suzie of Suzie's Nails was able to see me the day after I walked in. We found great hiking trails 10 minutes from our door! The home is comfortable and functional - we spent most of our stay either in the backyard or on the roof top deck. With the perfect weather, we had very little reason to go inside. We are already planning a return stay!

Our stay was wonderful. The location was excellent, with restaurants, bars, and the ferry to San Francisco an easy mile walk. The cottage was clean, very comfortable, and felt like home. The only minor thing to note is that, if you like sleeping late, you may occasionally hear footsteps after 7:00 a.m., though it wasn’t a significant issue for us. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend you to stay here.

It was indeed a charming cottage and the backyard was beyond spectacular. I didn't move my car for two weeks as shops and restaurants (all fabulous) were walkable. David, the host, was extremely helpful and responsive to inquiries. Super dog friendly city so my pup had a great time walking the harbor. Looking forward to a return visit.
