The owners of Seastar House believe that true luxury doesn't have to come at the expense of our planet. That's why every decision - from initial design to daily operations - has been guided by a deep commitment to minimising our environmental footprint while enhancing our guests' connection to Barbados' natural beauty.
While Seastar House offers the ultimate in Caribbean luxury - elegant biophilic design and personalised service - what truly sets this villa apart is its unwavering commitment to minimising environmental impact without compromising the guest experience. In a region where freshwater is a precious resource, Seastar House takes responsible water management seriously. The villa's innovative rainwater catchment system collects and stores over 3,000 gallons of water exclusively for irrigation purposes. This sustainable approach ensures the property's lush tropical landscaping thrives without placing unnecessary demands on local water supplies.
Seastar House's environmental commitment began during its construction phase, with careful planning to batch order materials and minimise transportation impacts. Throughout construction, we meticulously recycled waste materials including wood, cardboard, and plastics. The luxurious guest experience extends to the bathroom amenities, where you'll find exquisite botanical toiletries produced locally by St. Lucy Botanists, which we refill to avoid wasting bottles. These premium products showcase Barbados' natural botanicals while supporting local artisanal production.
The owner is particularly proud that Seastar House is the first villa in Barbados to participate in the One Dollar Initiative. For every guest night at our property, we donate one dollar directly to the Barbados Environmental Conservation Trust.
Note. The outdoor ice-cold tub is chargeable at US$200 per week if the desired temperature is below 10 degrees to be used as an ice bath. Use as a normal cold plunge is free of charge.

Barbados’ west coast, often referred to as the “Platinum Coast,” is one of the Caribbean’s most luxurious and desirable destinations. Stretching from Holetown to Speightstown, this beautiful coastline is famous for its calm turquoise waters, soft white-sand beaches, elegant resorts, fine dining restaurants, and relaxed sophistication. Unlike the rugged Atlantic east coast, the west coast offers tranquil seas ideal for swimming, catamaran cruises, and luxury beachfront living. Visitors can expect a refined atmosphere where understated elegance meets authentic Caribbean charm.
One of the greatest attractions of the west coast is its stunning collection of beaches. Paynes Bay is particularly popular for its crystal-clear water and opportunities to swim alongside sea turtles, while Mullins Beach offers a lively yet upscale beach atmosphere with watersports, stylish beach bars, and comfortable loungers. Sandy Lane Beach is perhaps the island’s most iconic stretch of sand, known for its exclusivity and luxury villas, while Alleynes Bay provides a quieter setting perfect for peaceful sunset walks and relaxed afternoons by the sea. Many of the luxury hotels along the coast offer private beach service, allowing guests to enjoy cocktails, dining, and watersports directly from their sun loungers.
A luxury catamaran cruise is considered one of the signature Barbados experiences and is highly recommended for anyone visiting the west coast. These cruises typically include snorkelling with sea turtles, exploring shipwrecks, gourmet lunches, premium open bars, and breathtaking sunset views across the Caribbean Sea. Operators such as Silver Moon, Tiami, and Cool Runnings provide both group excursions and private charters for couples or families seeking a more exclusive experience. The calm waters of the west coast make these cruises particularly enjoyable and memorable.
For golf enthusiasts, the west coast is home to some of the Caribbean’s most prestigious golf courses, particularly those at Sandy Lane. The renowned Green Monkey course is one of the most exclusive in the region, offering dramatic ocean views, immaculate fairways, and a world-class golfing experience. Even for non-golfers, Sandy Lane represents the pinnacle of Barbados luxury, with exceptional spa facilities, fine dining, and impeccable service attracting visitors from around the world.
The west coast is also an ideal destination for wellness and relaxation. Luxury resorts such as Sandy Lane, Coral Reef Club, Fairmont Royal Pavilion, and Cobblers Cove offer exceptional spa experiences, beachfront yoga sessions, and wellness treatments designed to complement the peaceful Caribbean surroundings. Many visitors choose the west coast specifically for its relaxed atmosphere and refined pace of life, where days are spent moving between the beach, spa, and elegant seaside restaurants.
Holetown serves as the social and shopping hub of the west coast and is home to the Limegrove Lifestyle Centre, an upscale shopping and entertainment complex featuring designer boutiques, luxury jewellery stores, art galleries, wine bars, and chic cafés. In the evenings, Holetown becomes lively yet sophisticated, with visitors enjoying cocktails and fine dining overlooking the sea.
Dining on Barbados’ west coast is one of the highlights of any visit. The Cliff is perhaps the island’s most famous fine dining restaurant, dramatically positioned above the Caribbean Sea and renowned for its exceptional seafood, elegant service, and unforgettable sunset setting. The Tides in Holetown offers refined Caribbean cuisine in a stylish waterfront setting, making it ideal for romantic dinners. QP Bistro combines modern luxury with excellent sushi, cocktails, and panoramic sea views, while Lone Star is famous for glamorous beachfront lunches and stylish evening dining. For a more relaxed yet equally chic atmosphere, Calma Beach Club and La Cabane offer beautiful beachfront settings with excellent cocktails
