Villa Tharu

The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. They even picked me up from the bus stand and took me to the property, which was a very thoughtful gesture. They also offered welcome drinks upon arrival. The property is located in a peaceful and relaxing area. The only downside is that the property is located a little inland, so you need to travel a bit to reach the coastal area and beaches. However, having scooters available for rent makes getting around quite convenient. Overall, I had a pleasant and comfortable stay and would definitely recommend this place to others.

We stayed at Villa Tharu for a month and it was a great stay 👍 It's a two-story villa, divided into two floors. We lived on the ground floor, which has its own kitchen. There is a separate bedroom and a living room with a dining table. There is a refrigerator, a gas stove and sufficient utensils for cooking. The shower has hot water. For a small fee, the owner will wash your clothes. Everything is here for an extended stay. The villa is located off the busy main road, but you'll need transportation to get there. We rented a bike from the owners (good price too). The host family is very nice and friendly, we were happy to stay in their house (they live here in a separate building). The internet on the island is not very good, so it is better to have your own SIM card with data, if WiFi doesn't work well. I wish this lovely family more good guests, see you next time!

If you want to be away from Hikkaduwa’s main road and experience a beautiful homestay Tharu Villa is for you, I stayed for 11 nights and rented a motorbike from town to get around, riding back here each day felt like returning home. For a month in Sri Lanka I only stayed in homestays and Tharu villa was my favourite, really nice family, great home cooked food and a beautiful house in a quiet area. A friend also came to stay for 4 nights and loved it aswell.
