The cottage is beautifully finished and so cosy, it’s definitely a real home away from home. It had everything we needed for a short break in Scotland and was a great base to explore the area. The view over the Firth of Clyde from the living room is beautiful too - a great place to enjoy a coffee in the morning.
Hazel the owner was a fantastic host and made us feel so welcome, with an array of goodies left for us on arrival and even a bottle of Prosecco to help us see in the New Year. Our son was also made up with the crabbing lines!
Skelmorlie is a lovely quiet spot with lots of places to explore in the area. In Skelmorlie itself there’s the Eglinton bar within walking distance (dog friendly) and also a village shop and great Chinese. Largs is also an easy drive for more places to eat, drink and shop.
We had a fantastic stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Craigievar Cottage to anyone - we will definitely be back!
