Orchid Cabin Kuala Tahan

The cabins are made from prefabricated modular units, similar to those often used as offices or classrooms. They are very clean and comfortable. When you leave the cabin, the electricity is switched off, so the air conditioning stops working too. However, this is not a problem, as the air conditioning works very well and cools the room down again in no time. Each cabin has a fridge, an A/C, a kettle, tea and instant coffee. Breakfast is available at the hotel next door for RM 15 per person, and there is also an ATM there. Restaurants, mini-markets and the jetty are all within easy walking distance. What really makes this place stand out is Abdool. He organised all our excursions, including the Canopy Walk and the Combo Tour, as well as our onward journey to the Cameron Highlands by boat and bus and our laundry service. The combined boat and bus journey to the Cameron Highlands is highly recommended. Abdool also made sure we went to the correct pier for our excursions. He even came by scooter to show us the right departure point. When it was time to continue our journey, he personally accompanied us and our luggage to the pier. He was always friendly, cheerful and helpful. His outstanding service made our stay particularly enjoyable. There is a mini-market directly opposite where you can also buy beer, although it is quite expensive.

Each cabin has a covered outdoor area with a small table and two chairs. While this is a nice feature, the view could be more appealing, as it overlooks a gravelled area with little greenery and no trees to provide natural shade.

De gastvrijheid en de bedden waren uitstekend! Airconditioning (wat hier zeer nodig is) Ontbijt kun je in de buurt voor een paar ringgit kopen.

L'emplacement est parfait et les cabines sont neuves (moins d'un an). La climatisation fonctionne très bien et le gérant est au petit soins. Il nous a aidé à réserver toutes les activités. Wifi OK.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Orchid Cabins in Taman Negara. The location is just outside the centre, which makes it wonderfully peaceful and quiet, while still being close enough to everything. The cabins are spacious, bright, exceptionally clean and equipped with everything you could possibly need. Honestly, we didn’t miss a thing during our stay. Our host was absolutely fantastic: incredibly welcoming, enthusiastic and genuinely committed to making sure we had a great experience. He arranged all our excursions perfectly and kept an eye on everything to make sure it all went smoothly. Whenever we needed anything, all we had to do was ask — and it was arranged. A beautiful, peaceful place to stay with a host who really goes the extra mile. We would absolutely recommend Orchid!
