About this house rental
This spacious and gracious private property on the lake has been owned by our family for over 70 years. When not being rented, we stay there ourselves. It is our home. It is only available for the week of June 16- 23rd and July 02-09, 2022. We offer it for one week minimum at a cost of $9000. It includes two 2-story houses which are connected by a 150' flagstone walk . There is also a privately owned tennis court and a big sandy beach, as well as a dock for renters who wish to bring or rent their own boat.
Birch trees, hemlocks and tall pine abound. It is a perfect setting for 3 generation family vacations and reunions. The Big House has 6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms and sleeps 11. Downstairs consists of a large living room and an equally large sun room/dining room (the porch) with extensive views of the lake and mountains.
It has a big country kitchen, large fridge, dinnerware and cutlery. A stone patio is just outside surrounded by flowers.
The Little House ( not really so little) has 4 bedrooms (2 queen, 1 double and 2 singles) and 2 upstairs bathrooms. Downstairs is a living room plus a dining area and sliding glass doors.
The prominent feature of the Little House is a large wood deck cantilevered over the lake, with a large screened porch at one end, with extra dining table and chairs. The deck gets lots of sun and views of sunsets.
The gas grill in between both houses is shared.
The large expanse of green lawn overlooking the lake offers quiet rest, plenty of lawn chairs, a chance to hear the loons, play outdoor games or swing in the hammock. Alternatively, sports enthusiasts can sail in the sunfish, row the boat, canoe, practice their yoga, badminton, croquet, borrow our many bikes and helmets to complete the 12 mile lake loop.
The property has a large sandy beach sunlit until late afternoon. The entrance to the water is very gradual, so very safe for little ones. At the beach is a cabana with an enclosed hot water shower. There is a swim float in the water off the beach and several small kayaks for kids or adults. There is also a canoe and a sunfish.
Inside the houses are many toys, games and puzzles, plus an old piano, and great places for hide and seek. Across the road among the woods is our Har-tru tennis court, and a 4-car garage with a ping-pong table.
