Robert is an outstanding host — organized, attentive, and genuinely invested in making every detail seamless. He even assisted with our onward travel arrangements back to Costa Rica, which was incredibly helpful and allowed us to fully relax. Maile is an exceptional hostess and chef. The meals were fresh, generous, and thoughtfully prepared — a perfect balance of Caribbean flavors and elevated comfort. Dining there felt intimate and personal, never transactional. She and Robert even gave us a tour of their lush and vast gardens where they source many of their local ingredients. Konrad was kind, patient, and an incredibly capable skipper. He knows all the local fishing, snorkeling, and dining spots for the freshest catch. He picked us up by private boat transfer — even waiting when we were unexpectedly late to the dock — and welcomed us with drinks on arrival. Our time on the water was calm, safe, and memorable. We explored beautiful areas of Bocas del Toro, saw local wildlife, and enjoyed the private tours and fishing excursions that they organized on demand daily. We were generously upgraded to the over-water bungalow, which was absolutely magical — waking up over still Caribbean waters, surrounded by jungle and sea, with kayaks at our disposal and the ability to swim directly from our private dock. The design is comfortable yet eco-conscious, blending sustainability with understated luxury. What truly sets Six Pillars apart is the atmosphere: impeccably organized yet relaxed, eco-friendly yet refined, personal without being intrusive. It’s a rare balance.
