Cozy Plaka Apartment

Excellent location – right on one of the liveliest and most enjoyable streets in the area, with plenty of restaurants, cafés and shops nearby. Check-in was very easy and straightforward. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and of a reasonable size, making it a great base for exploring the city.

I would have happily given this property a perfect 10. However, I was disappointed by the lack of a few simple gestures of hospitality. Providing a bottle of chilled water for guests on arrival would have made a big difference. I was also surprised that a complimentary bottle of inexpensive local wine was only offered if we booked the airport transfer through the property, at €55 instead of arranging our own transfer (around €40). These are small details, but they influence the overall guest experience and are the reason I cannot give a perfect score.

We loved this property. It was an excellent location right on the main shopping street in the Plaka. The glazing was robust enough that we never had a noise problem from the street. The apartment was very roomy although the kitchen was a one person only size. We only eat a cold breakfast so we did no cooking. Consequently the kitchen size was not a concern. There was plenty on hot water although the temperature needed to be adjusted a bit throughout your shower. There were sufficient dishes and flatware for our purposes. The bed and pillows were quite comfortable as were the couch and chairs. The dining room table was huge so there was plenty of space to set out our stuff each day. The temperature ranged between 10-12 in the early hours and had a high of about 18 but the apartment was always comfortable. Check in was remote but worked great and we were provided all the information about the suite we required for our stay. The owner was quickly responsive to all our questions.

The kitchen faucet was either worn out or broken as it flopped around as you moved it. We reported it to the owner who replied he would have his maintenance staff in to repair it.
