About this cottage rental
This is a cozy, comfortable two-bedroom home located in the heart of Story on a secluded corner of paradise. The house is well equipped to provide a worry-free stay. It is a short walk to the local store, library and post office. On the property, there is a private walking trail (walking, snowshoeing, or cross-country skiing), three holes of rustic golf, a beautiful mountain stream, and an abundance of opportunities for wildlife watching. For relaxation, there is no place better.
SPACE
The house is in a secluded setting, but close to the few amenities our little town of Story has to offer. The house is bright with natural light, and while it isn't large, it is quite comfortable with a sit-in kitchen as well as a breakfast bar. The house itself is equipped with just about anything you would need, so if your planning on a little bit longer stay, know that you won't need to bring a lot of extras.
NEIGHBORHOOD
The Story Store is about a two-minute walk from the house. It has just about everything ,including beer, wine and liquor, and they are open 7 days a week from 7:30 - 7:30. Keep in mind that it is a small store in a small town and the prices do reflect that. There is also a library and a post office. There are many points of interest and they will be noted in the guide.
TRANSIT
Most people explore the area by car, but there are many options. Horseback and four-wheelers are popular. Lake DeSmet is less than 10 miles away and provides opportunities for boating, fishing and jet skis. There are rental equipment options in Sheridan and Buffalo. You wouldn’t want to leave snowmobiling off the list. Another fun way to see some beautiful country.
ADDITIONAL RULES
- Please follow septic tank etiquette without fail. It wouldn't be pretty and the rules are simple. Toilet paper only in toilet. No feminine products, wipes, Kleenex, nothing but toilet paper please. Second, no grease down the drain.
- There is no smoking inside the house or on the property. We have infant granddaughters who spend time in the space.
- Absolutely no parties or events.
