Wallersee Retreat

in Austria, you become accustomed to really quality pensions, hotels, and apartments. And the small villages are sometimes even more remarkable in the quality of your stay. And then, every once in a while, you arrive at your booked stay, like I did at Wallersee Retreat, and the whole experience becomes a huge treat. The room above the family-style Pizzaria on the main street of a small village where you can see and experience the lives of the locals. Example, the first day, I walked out onto the main street and instantly saw Lederhosen and Drindle's being worn by everyone walking towards the really old church, so I followed them. Such a wonderful engagement, all I could do is smile. Or, the 2.5 km hike I took each day to play tennis in a senior tournament right at the Wallersee and where each day I got to see family farms and their daily routines. In fact, one day I was hiking back and saw two tractors, the first driven by an elderly lady who was raking the freshly cut hay, and the second tractor pulling the wagon that sucked up the raked hay, also driven by a woman or girl who was probably the first lady's granddaughter. I thought two things, first, farming is hard and continuous work, and second what a beautiful life living and working in gorgeous Salzburg region with an idyllic lake in the background. And the apartment, never have I had such a well appointed apartment. The coffee maker is a WMF brand and filter, my favourite, like does anybody really like capsule coffee? And plates and silverware were extremely high quality. And I cooked every meal in a wonderful fully appointed kitchen. And I had coffee every morning on the balcony listening to a bird concert. And the sleeping room, completely quiet, in fact the whole apartment was silent with no noise or pizza odors from below. Sometimes we visit, and sometimes we experience, this was a wonderful experience and the hosts communicated fast and efficient. Truly a treat.

Sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtete Wohnung. Auf dem Balkon konnte man die Abendsonne wunderbar genießen. Ruhig trotz zentraler Lage. Kostenlose Parkplätze in erreichbarer Nähe. Zum Ein- und Ausladen findet man an Hauptstraße immer einen Platz. Super schnelle und hilfsbereite Kommunikation mit Vermieterin Susanne - Danke!!

Weniger empfehlenswert für Fahrradfahrer, da leider keine gesicherte Abstellmöglichkeit vor Ort (allerdings kein Vermieterproblem).

Super liebevoll eingerichtete Wohnung in der es einen an nichts fehlt - auch die Gastgeber waren jederzeit erreichbar und sehr zuvorkommend und grünlich :)
