Tipima Guesthouse - Your Cozy Beach Escape

Great, little self-contained cottage that you have all to yourself with a walled-in yard (no, no one is above you). The structure apparently has had a brand new refurbishment, so everything feels brand new. Great kitchen with new appliances and kitchenware, including a little single-serve coffee machine. The host is friendly & helpful. A bus stop is a short walk away and it's location is convenient to multiple restaurants, beaches, bars, supermarkets, and shopping; including options within walking distance. Essentially, it's in a quieter residential area in-between Grand Baie & Trou-aux-Biches. There is a fantastic patio/terrasse area (Loved having the ceiling fan out there and there's another fan in the living room). Never had a problem with parking, either on the street directly outside the gate, or if you worry about the car, there's a partially vegetated lot less than a 100m away that people in the neighborhood use, and which i frequented (albeit, it can sometimes fill up, so just be aware). Shower had excellent water pressure and a sizeable water heater. I definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Exterior can sometimes get noisy with a couple dogs (which are ubiquitous on Mauritius but at least there aren't strays here and it's not constant) and the road out front is relatively busy during the day, for a residential area, as it is a wider 2 lane street (which on Mauritius is a good thing if you're driving a car, which i was) and is used as a bus route, as previously mentioned, and larger vehicles to get into the neighborhood. But, compared to other areas on Mauritius (i've been here for several weeks and jumped around the island) this was NOT bad in terms of traffic nor noise, relatively. You'd have to be on a dead-end street or a single lane alleyway to get a quieter location, but then you wouldn't have all the advantages of this location. At night, it DEFINITELY slowed down and became quieter, and i didn't have any problems sleeping.

The house is located in a fantastic area, and nearby you have all the necessary amenities: the beach, supermarkets, a bakery, and restaurants. The neighborhood is very quiet and relaxing.
