Bright 2 Bed Basement Near Square One Mall Family Friendly Stay

On the positive side, the basement has been renovated, so it looks bright and neat, especially the washroom. The bedding and mattress were also quite comfortable. I was glad that there were small windows, which allowed some fresh air to come in. The host was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay.

The odor was quite strong when we arrived at the flat. I believe the central air conditioning may have spread the cooking smells from upstairs into the unit. The kettle looked heavily used and was not in very good condition. Also, if you plan to do any cooking, please note that the smoke alarm is very sensitive — it can be triggered even by boiling water, so you need to be very careful. The utensils provided are also quite limited. I would not recommend this flat if you need to cook your own meals. The bathtub drainage was also quite slow, so the water did not drain smoothly during use. The flat also has a door connected to the host’s side of the property, and there does not seem to be a lock that fully prevents access from the upstairs/resident side into the flat. Our stay was safe, but I would suggest being cautious if you plan to store expensive items or a large amount of cash there.
