The property provides very good views of Tahunanui, the beach, Rabbit Island, the Western mountains, as well as Fifeshire Rock and Port Nelson. Not being advertised as a Bed and Breakfast property , it does accurately fall into the glamping/tenting profile, but with some extras provided.

It is difficult to categorise the accommodation provided, because of the hybridised eco flavoured facilities that the host is attempting to provide. They will not appeal to everyone. While it has to be said the double bed provided ( not in a tent) was comfortable and clean, the separated compostable toilet and wash handbasin cubical, while functional, would not be appreciated by many guests and likewise the "kitchenette" was limited to say the least, consisting of a refrigerator in a cupboard, along with a few basic items, toaster and a small induction hob, but lacking any microwave appliance. An outdoor shower was provided along with a basin which served as a sink to wash any dishes. However you can forget about that arrangement, particularly if the weather is inclement, because of the lack of any shelter from rain and wind. Princes Drive is a well known even historical Nelson street, with reasonable routes to both the beach and the city. However the property at 246 is located on one of the city's steeper hills, and the longish very rough, unsealed driveway that accesses the address, is not that easy to spot and navigate at night time.
