The Space:
Welcome to 26 Port Tack, a modern, dog-friendly escape in Palmetto Dunes that combines comfort, style, and fun. This single-level home was recently updated and now features a brand-new pool, spa, and deck overlooking a tranquil lagoon. Vaulted ceilings and skylights brighten the open floor plan, and the layout offers natural flow and ease.
The primary suite opens directly to the deck and pool, with dual sinks, a skylight, an updated shower, and a soaking tub to unwind in. Two guest bedrooms, one with a queen and twin, the other with a queen, share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom with a spacious vanity and separate water closet. For extra flexibility, there is a Carolina room with a sleeper sofa and a Murphy bed tucked into the office area. A dedicated home office space allows work and play to coexist.
Entertainment options abound: the garage is equipped with a ping-pong table, air hockey, and a large Connect Four game, making it ideal for groups or families. PROPERTY SPECIFIC DETAILS:
* Palmetto Dunes is a gated community in which every vehicle must have a gate pass for entry. One gate pass is included with your reservation at the time of booking. If you require additional passes, please request the exact number needed to ensure they are prepared in advance. Each pass has a fee of $45. All gate passes must be picked up at the host2coast office prior to entry.
* Pool/spa heating is available for an additional fee and can be arranged after your booking is confirmed. We kindly ask that heating is ordered in advance of the stay.
* Due to safety concerns, the fireplace is not available for guest use.
* Dog Friendly - 2 dog max. $250 non-refundable fee per dog. Dogs are not permitted on the furniture and must be crated if left alone. Please do not leave furry friends alone outside, as we have wildlife that they should not encounter.
* Free access to The Dunes Buggy transportation which provides courtesy transportation within Palmetto Dunes, Leamington, and Shelter Cove mid-March through mid-September. This on-demand service dispatches vehicles on a first-come, first-serve basis!

There are recommendations for bike rental companies within your Guest App. You can reserve in advance and they will deliver to you or bring your own! Almost everything you will need is within walking distance, so bring your walking shoes! There are free trolley stops at various locations throughout the island.
Palmetto Dunes Buggy Service
Free shuttle service. The Palmetto Dunes Buggy service provides complimentary transportation within the Palmetto Dunes Resort and Shelter Cove Harbor. Don't worry about renting a car or spending money on getting to and from all the amenities and things to do at Palmetto Dunes.
The shuttle service will take you to the beach, golf courses, restaurants, shops, and tennis courts at Palmetto Dunes. It will also bring you to Shelter Cove Harbour, Towne Center, and the Plaza. This area is bustling and offers plenty of activities and things to do just off-site.
The Palmetto Dunes Buggy service is available seasonally from April to September. Each van is dispatched on a first-come, first serve basis by request. Typically vans arrive within 10 minutes of a call.

I have stayed at this property twice now and both times have been great! The location is perfect, house is very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend staying here, relaxing and inviting.

We loved the heated pool for our fall beach trip. The house and property were lovely and only a five min bike ride from the beach. The kitchen was large and well appointed, the common areas were spacious, and the hosts provided a variety of pool toys, games, puzzles, and books for entertainment. The four bedrooms were all cozy, and the master bath was large with a jacuzzi tub and separate shower.
The only negative was having only 1.5 baths other than the master, with the second full bath being small with only a small tub/shower. Also, the toilet paper holder was hanging off the wall. It worked for our relatively small family, I but would not recommend for multiple families or an extended family because of the limited bathroom space.

Visited Hilton Head with a group of friends, the location of this property was beautiful. The house was really nice but a lot of the little things felt very cheap. Toilet paper holders falling off, sinks clogged, cheap beds etc… They also try to charge you for every little thing on top of the price you already paid. Not their fault but the pond behind the house attracts a TON of mosquitoes, expect to get eaten up at night. Overall wonderful trip but would probably choose a different house next visit.
