The host was helpful and responsive. The apartment is in a decent location in a nice building, around 10 minutes from Dubai Mall. Having a supermarket and other shops downstairs was convenient, nice pool view from the terrace, and the pool was nice (but doesn't get much sun, mostly in the shade).

The apartment was very small not very clean. There was long black hair throughout and my socks were really dirty within minutes. There were cockroaches and a strong sewage smell. There was no winter bedding, only a thin cover. We were 3 people but given only 2 towels. There was mould in the shower, and several items were very rusty including the cooking pans, shower, door fittings, and clothing rail. The shower door did not close properly, and the kettle had an EU plug so it could not be used. Hot water supply also get randomly switched off in the evening so there is only certain times of the day you can access hot water. (I would put the plumping issues down to the building and not fault of the owner).
