El apartamento muy limpio y en una buena zona

The first floor apartment was great. Everything worked. The kitchen was well equipped, it had pots, dinner plates, cups, saucers, bowls and glasses. There was plenty of silverware and sharp knives. There was also a Nespresso coffee maker and an electric kettle. The oven and induction cooktop worked just fine, although I had to google the instructions. I eventually got to make a few cakes, and there was springform pan in the cupboard. There is also a dishwasher, since it was only the two of us we never did use it. And the ventilation hood worked just fine. The two bedrooms were had comfortable beds. The larger of two is next to the entry way to the apartment and you can hear people in the stairwell. The second bedroom is adjacent to the street, so there can be some street noise. Each bedroom had adequate closet space. There is also a small balcony fronting the street. The bathroom had a glass-door shower, a small vanity with two drawers for storage. There was a hairdryer as well; Plenty of hot water and towels. The washing machine is a front loader, worked really well, the cycle that I ended up using took about three hours to complete. There is no dryer but there is a folding dryer rack, a clothes iron and ironing board. The main room - kitchen, living and dining, had a table, four chairs, a good size TV and a small couch. The entry of the main room is also the entry to the apartment, the other end is the glass-door to the balcony. Lavapies is in the older part of the city, the neighborhood has a lot of charm. The apartment is close to two Metro stations - Lavapies and Anton Martin. You are only two metro stops away from Plaza del Sol or Atocha train station (high speed trains). Reina Sofia Museum is about five minute walk and the Prado museum is a very pleasant 30 minute walk. There are two grocery stores nearby; CarreFour in Plaza Lavapies, just across the street from the metro station, and there is a Marcadona about six blocks away.

This is not a negative, I really liked the neighborhood. I ran out of space above. Lavapies is in the older part of the city, the neighborhood has a lot of charm. There is also a CarreFour Express close by on Calle Isabel. Mercado Anton Martin is near and on the way to the Anton Martin Metro stop. Mercado San Fernando is about two long block away from Plaza Lavapies. My wife and I preferred the Calle Isabel / Anton Martin area over Plaza Lavapies. We had no problems day or night but we didn’t like crowd in the plaza. The police always seemed to be around. That is the only negative that we came across. If it is a negative. Just be a bit more cautious around the plaza and metro station.
